Dr Sameer Sharma IAS (Andhra Pradesh 1985) ex Director General- Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi and presently on reptriation to his parent cadre has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the Andhra Pradesh .. He has a Master’s in Community Planning and a Doctorate from the United States. His Ph.D. thesis was in the cross-functional areas of spatial economics, public health, and urban planning.
He has written 3 books – “A Textbook on Urban Planning and Geography” (2021), “Smart Cities Unbundled” (2018) and “Hourglass Management Paradigm Pathway to Excellence In Leadership” (2015). He was Chairman of the Committees set up by the MoHUA to design a National Urban Policy Framework as well as the Policy on Value Capture Finance.
Dr. Sharma has also received a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt) from the Shankaracharya University, Kanchi, India.
