Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna and the largest steel-making public sector enterprise in India, has supplied approximately 45,000 tonnes of steel for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, set to take place in Prayagraj. The steel provided includes chequered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles, and joists. This contribution continues SAIL’s legacy of support for the event, having previously supplied steel for the Mahakumbh Mela in 2013.
The steel will be instrumental in constructing various essential temporary structures required for the event, such as pontoon bridges, passageways, temporary steel bridges, substations, and flyovers. Key customers benefiting from this supply include the Public Works Department (PWD), Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, the Electricity Board, and their associated suppliers.
SAIL expressed pride in contributing to an event that reflects India’s rich cultural heritage. The company remains dedicated to supporting national projects that enhance infrastructure and promote the country’s cultural and social development.
