Shri S Thirumalai Selvam, currently serving as General Manager (Design & Engineering) and Technical Assistant to the Executive Director at the Research & Development Centre for Iron and Steel (RDCIS), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has been selected for the post of Director (Projects) at Sagarmala Development Company Limited. With decades of experience in industrial design, engineering, and research, he has made significant contributions to SAIL’s R&D efforts, particularly in enhancing design methodologies and fostering innovation in engineering processes. His leadership has played a vital role in advancing SAIL’s technological capabilities and supporting strategic development projects.
Shri Selvam holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Consultancy from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani (2010–2012), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), where he graduated with an ‘A’ grade (2015–2019). He began his academic journey at Seshasayee Institute of Technology, Trichy, where he studied from 1984 to 1987.
His appointment as Director (Projects) at Sagarmala Development Company Limited—a central agency under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways driving port-led development—marks a significant milestone in his distinguished career in engineering and public sector project leadership.
