Dr. S. Tejaswi Naik, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, is a dynamic and accomplished administrator known for his diverse experience across public finance, urban governance, and high-level policy coordination at the Union Government. With a professional background in healthcare, he holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, having studied at K.L.E. Institute of Dental Sciences. This academic training has provided him with a disciplined, analytical approach and a strong understanding of public health systems.

Dr. Naik began his administrative journey after completing his training in 2009, followed by his initial posting as Assistant Collector in Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh. He subsequently served as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Katni, where he handled critical responsibilities related to law and order, revenue administration, and coordination of development activities at the sub-divisional level.

His leadership abilities became more evident during his tenure as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Panchayat in Anuppur. Here, he played a key role in strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions, implementing rural development schemes, and improving grassroots governance. His work focused on enhancing local self-governance and ensuring effective delivery of welfare programs.

Dr. Naik’s career further progressed with his appointment as Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Bhopal. In this significant urban governance role, he was responsible for municipal administration, urban planning, and service delivery in the state capital. His tenure was marked by efforts to improve urban infrastructure, streamline municipal services, and address the challenges of rapid urbanization.

He later transitioned to a key policy role in the Finance Department of Madhya Pradesh, where he served as Director at the Deputy Secretary level. In this capacity, he was involved in budget formulation, financial management, and fiscal planning, contributing to the state’s economic governance and resource allocation strategies.

At the national level, Dr. Naik has held prestigious assignments as Private Secretary (PS) to Union Ministers. He served in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in different capacities, including at the Deputy Secretary and Director equivalent levels, where he was closely associated with policy coordination, ministerial support, and governance at the highest levels of decision-making. His role required handling sensitive administrative matters, inter-ministerial coordination, and facilitating policy implementation.

In June 2024, Dr. Naik was appointed as Private Secretary to the Union Minister for Heavy Industries in New Delhi at the Director level. In this position, he continues to play a critical role in supporting ministerial functions, policy execution, and administrative coordination within the Government of India.
