CMD,NLCI conferred with Honorary Doctorate

Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Ltd., has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Sathyabama University, Chennai.

Tmt. Remibai Jeppiaar, Chancellor, Sathyabama University presented the Honorary Degree to  Shri S.K Acharya CMD,NLCI  during the   25th Convocation of Sathyabama University, for his contribution to the Nation’s building and exceptional leadership skills  and achievements in  Human Resources.

Shri Acharya, in his 36 years of rich professional career, working in BHEL, NTPC, NTPC-SAIL Power Company and NLC India (joined as Director HR in NLC India in 2005) made significant contributions in improving peoples’ processes and practices in the companies   through his strategic planning which  enhanced the business results. He is known for his excellent administration, acumen in resolving problems faced in Corporate Management, Human Resource and Personnel Management.

Shri S.K Acharya, believes in the fact that for an organisation “no dreams become reality unless there is a solid resource based minds and hands of its people join together to achieve a shared vision”   with this philosophy, soon after assuming charge as CMD of NLC India on 1st October 2015, he has drafted an ambitious Corporate Plan for the company “Corporate Plan 2025”, with a vision for 10 years.  Born out of his visionary dreams the plan takes of a growth plan in Lignite mining capacity from 30.6 MTPA to 56.9 MTPA, Coal mining capacity from 0 to 31.5 MTPA, Power generation capacity from 4271 MW to 19831 MW including renewable energy of 4251 MW (Solar-4000 MW, Wind-251 MW).

Shri S.K Acharya in his illustrious career has been conferred with many awards and also has, through his dynamic and innovative approaches, enabled organizations under his leadership to win numerous awards and accolades.

He is one of the few inspirational corporate leaders, whose name also finds a place in the book ‘Most Powerful HR Professionals of India’ (4th Edition),
