Indian Bureaucracy News, New Delhi, March 25, 2026 | Shri Ramachandran R IAS (Karnataka 2012), presently Executive Director, Suvarna Arogya Suraksha trust, Bengaluru, is appointed as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Karnataka, a Director level position, on central deputation basis for a period of three years under Central Staffing Scheme (order dated 23.03.2026).
Shri Ramachandran R, born on June 10, 1986, hails from Tamil Nadu and holds a B.Sc. in Zoology from Loyola College, University of Madras, and an LL.B. from Dr. Ambedkar Law University, with specialisation in civil and criminal law.
He is currently serving as Executive Director (Director level) in the Health & Family Welfare Department, Karnataka, since October 2025. Over the vast span of his career, he has held several key positions across transport, urban development, education, and public health. Notably, he has served as Managing Director of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), as well as Managing Director of Bangalore Metro Transport Corporation Limited.
In the health sector, he has worked as Commissioner, Food Safety, and State Mission Director in the Health & Family Welfare Department. His urban governance experience includes serving as Special Commissioner in the Greater Bengaluru Municipal Corporation (BBMP). At the district level, he has served as Deputy Commissioner in Bidar and Bagalkot, and as CEO of Zila Panchayats in Belgaum and Koppal, contributing to rural development and local governance.
