In a big Indian bureaucracy news, Shri Rajiv Mehrishi, IAS (Rajasthan 1978) presently posted as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs has been transferred as the new Home Secretary ,Government of India. He was to retire on 31st August,2015 and has been presently been appointed for 2 years.
Shri Rajiv has done his graduation and PG in History (St Stephen) and MBA in Business Administration from Strathclyde, Glasgow. He started his Indian bureaucracy career in 1978 and has managed many portfolios in his career, SDO,Magistrate-Ajmer,Additional Collector-Jodhpur, Collector-Bikaner, Director-Agriculture, Dy Secy- Petroleum and Natural Gas , Transport Commissioner-Jaipur, Jt Secy- Cabinet Sectt(GOI),Addl. Secy- Agriculture(GOI), Secretary- Overseas Indian Affairs, Chief Secretary-Rajasthan to just name a few.
