Shri Rajiv Kumar Nagpal IFS presently Ambassador of India to Iceland, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly. Shri Nagpal as Ambassador of India to Iceland on 1st October 2015 and presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Iceland on 13th October, 2015.He has earlier served in different capacities in Indian Missions in Sofia (Bulgaria), Hong Kong, Pyongyang (North Korea), Permanent Mission of India to WTO, Geneva (Switzerland), Dubai (UAE) and Windhoek (Namibia), besides stints at Headquarters in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
His diplomatic assignments included administrative and diplomatic work covering Political, Commercial, Consular and Cultural desks in Indian Missions, including as Acting High Commissioner of India in Windhoek (Namibia) in 2010.
