Shri Rajesh Kumar Yadav IPS (West Bengal 2002), presently IGP- North Bengal Region, has been transferred and posted as IGP- Bankura Range, West Bengal.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) – Bankura Range is a senior Indian Police Service officer responsible for supervising policing operations across the Bankura Range under the West Bengal Police. The range typically includes districts such as Bankura, Purulia, and Jhargram, where the IGP provides strategic leadership in maintaining law and order, crime control, and effective police administration. The officer oversees the functioning of district Superintendents of Police, reviews major criminal investigations, monitors intelligence inputs, and ensures timely response to sensitive situations.
The IGP also plays a key role in coordinating with civil administration during elections, festivals, and emergency situations, while implementing state-level policing policies and modernization initiatives.
