Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje announced one time loan waiver of upto Rs. 50,000 for small and marginal farmers in the state. In her budget speech in the assembly, Mrs Raje also announced to set up a farmers loan relief commission where farmers can present their side for getting relief on merit basis.
As the CM announced the loan waiver, opposition Congress members created uproar in the house.
Mrs Raje informed the house that the decision of loan waiver will cost Rs. 8,000 crore on exchequer. She also announced free travel for people above 80 years of age and the hike in honorarium to Anganwadi workers.
