Shri R N Mishra IIS (1988), has taken charge on promotion as Director General (West Zone), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, at the office of PIB Mumbai . He succeeds Shri K. Muthukumar, who superannuated in March 2018. During his three decades in IIS, Shri Mishra has served in News Services Division, All India Radio; DD News, PIB Delhi, PIB Srinagar and other organizations under the Ministry of I&B. He has also served as Special Correspondent of Prasar Bharati in Kathmandu. Immediately prior to this, Shri Mishra was the head of PIB Raipur, as Additional Director General.
As DG (West Zone), Shri Mishra will be in charge of the functioning of the offices of both Press Information Bureau and Regional Outreach Bureau in the West Zone, comprising Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadar & Nagar Haveli. Additional Director General (Western Region), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Nitin Wakankar welcomed the DG, on behalf of the officers and staff of PIB Mumbai.
