Dr. Rakesh Aggarwal presently Professor, Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPIMS), Lucknow, has been appointed to the post of Director, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.
Shri Rakesh Aggarwal, MD, DM (Gastroenterology), MSc (Epidemiology), is a Professor of Gastroenterology at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, India. Professor Aggarwal obtained his medical degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India in 1983 and received his residency training in Internal Medicine at the same institution during 1984-1986. Thereafter, he completed his fellowship fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India during 1987-1989. In addition, he has trained in laboratory techniques at the Hepatitis Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, USA during 1995-1997, and completed a degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2008.
