Dr Prashant Jilova IAS (Gujarat 2017) presently Additional Industries Commissioner, Gandhinagar is transferred as Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Ahmedabad relieving Shri Amrutesh Aurangabadkar IAS of the additional charge .
A qualified medical professional, Dr. Jilova holds an M.B.B.S. degree from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, with academic exposure to all core medical subjects. His transition from medicine to civil services is a testament to his broader vision of impacting lives through governance, policy, and administrative leadership.
Prior to this role, Dr. Jilova served as the Additional Industries Commissioner in Gandhinagar (from January 2024 onwards), where he was actively involved in promoting industrial development and policy facilitation within Gujarat’s robust industrial ecosystem. His role required coordination with stakeholders from the public and private sectors and the strategic implementation of state industrial initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he gained valuable field experience as a Supernumerary Assistant Collector in Banaskantha, where he worked on grassroots governance, land revenue management, and citizen service delivery. This early field engagement provided him with first-hand insight into rural administration and local developmental challenges.
Dr. Jilova also served at the national level as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, posted with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Central Delhi (July 2019 to October 2019). Here, he contributed to key transportation projects, gaining experience in infrastructure policy, inter-agency coordination, and transport development strategies.
Known for his calm demeanor and analytical abilities, Dr. Jilova combines the precision of a medical practitioner with the strategic thinking of an administrator.
