The 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, was convened on 26th August 2025 through virtual mode. The meeting brought together the top leadership of the company, government representatives, independent directors, and shareholders from across the country. The meeting was chaired by Shri Ravindra Kumar Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director of POWERGRID. He was joined by Shri Ravisankar Ganesan, Director (Finance) & CFO, Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Personnel), Shri Naveen Srivastava, Director (Operations), and Shri Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, Director (Projects). Also present were Dr. Saibaba Darbamulla and Shri Abhay Bakre as Government Nominee Directors, along with Independent Directors Shri Shiv Tapasya Paswan, Shri Rohit Vaswani, and Smt. Sajal Jha. Representatives of the Hon’ble President and a large number of shareholders also participated through the digital platform, ensuring wide and inclusive engagement.
During the AGM, the management presented a comprehensive overview of POWERGRID’s financial performance, operational milestones, technological initiatives, and future strategies. As of 31st July 2025, POWERGRID has successfully commissioned and is operating 286 substations, more than 1,80,849 circuit kilometers (ckm) of transmission lines, and 5,74,331 MVA of transformation capacity. These achievements underscore the scale and robustness of the company’s infrastructure, which has become the backbone of India’s electricity grid. POWERGRID’s emphasis on efficiency, reliability, and innovation has enabled it to maintain an impressive average transmission system availability of more than 99.85%, a benchmark of operational excellence in the power sector.
