Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan at Ram Nagar in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh today on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.The scheme focuses on training, building infrastructure and stepping up initiatives for e-governance under the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project.

Mr Modi also unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of foundation stone of an LPG bottling plant of Indian Oil Corporation at Maneri.He also inaugurated Aadi Mahotsava, a three-day program on the conservation of ancient Tribal culture and heritage.Earlier, in a tweet on the National Panchayati Raj Day, Mr Modi said, it is an occasion to celebrate the efforts of all those who are a part of vibrant Panchayati Raj institutions.

He said, these institutions foster a spirit of democracy and further the aspirations of our citizens.Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, the budget of the country is for the welfare of all and the government is continuously working for the development of villages. He was addressing Panchayati Raj representatives across the country from Mandla in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. Mr Modi said, the Centre will support the representatives in empowering the villages and its people.

He said, representatives should focus on Jan Dhan, Van Dhan and Gobar Dhan, asking them to ensure that people have Jan Dhan accounts and insurance coverage under the government schemes. The Prime Minister said, India will transform, when the villages are transformed.

Mr Modi said, today the amount of budget is not a worry, it is about it’s honest implementation for the right beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister also said, the government has provided adequate facilities in villages for education, but the children have to be sincere towards being regular to schools. He added that farmers in the country need to know about and learn new farming techniques.

Shri Modi digitally launched the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. Before launching the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, Shri Modi inaugurated the Aadi Mahotsava, a three-day program on the conservation of ancient Tribal culture and heritage at Ramnagar. Later he revealed a road map for overall development of tribal’s during the next five years. Prime Minister also dedicated the digital local government Directory to the nation.

Mr Modi felicitated village Sarpanches who have achieved 100 percent smokeless kitchens, vaccination under Mission Indradhanush and electrification under Saubhagya Scheme. Shri Modi also unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of foundation stone of an LPG bottling plant of Indian Oil Corporation at Maneri. Prime Minister felicitated 6 states for the Rashtriya E panchayat puruskar . the award was bagged by Sikkim, Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tripura and Karnataka. This year Government has also started Gram Panchayat Vikas Puruskar. Shri Modi handed over the award to West bangal, Karnataka and Sikkim for the same.
