Shri Pankaj Saran IFS (1982) presently Indian Ambassador to Russia has been appointed Deputy National Security Advisor  against  the aforesaid post, for a period of two years, on deputation basis initially till the date of his superannuation (i.e. 30.11.2018) . Shri Saran before being appointed as Ambassador to Russia in January last year was the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh from March 2012 to December 2015. He was joint secretary in the PMO from 2007 to 2012.
