Pakistani police have claimed that they have arrested two purported “RAW agents” from the southern Sindh province, days after a former Indian Navy official was arrested in Balochistan on charges of espionage.
Naveed Khawaja, SSP counter-terrorism department (CTD), said the alleged “Research and Analysis Wing agents” were arrested from Thatta city during a raid on a tip off, the News International reported.
Khawaja identified those arrested as Saddam Hussain and Bachal who he said were working in the guise of fishermen in the area.
Addressing a press conference, the police officer claimed that India had provided codes to Saddam and Bachal.
Police have seized photographs of sensitive installations from the possession of the “spies”, he said.
Khawaja claimed that the alleged agents were planning to disrupt the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Last month, Kulbhushan Jadhav was arrested by Paksiatn, which released video confession about his intention to foment terrorism in Balochistan and Karachi.
India repeatedly denied both charges, saying the country has no interest and never interfered in either of these two places.
Indian government sources said the claim was a diversionary tactic to deflect attention from Pakistan’s own accountability on terror acts in India.
