Indian Bureaucracy PSU Update: Shri P C Parida has been given extension of tenure as post of Chairman, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) w.e.f. 15.03.2017.
Deputy chairman of Chennai Port Trust from January 2011. He also worked as deputy chairman, Mormugao Port Trust from November 2008 to December 2010, financial advisor and chief accounts officer of Chennai Port from September 2001 to October 2008.
He worked in the above same capacities at VO Chidambaranar Port Trust (erstwhile Tuticorin Port Trust) from August 1996 to September 2001. During his tenure in different ports, he was associated with many projects and this includes privatization of first container terminal at VO Chidambaranar Port, first and second container terminal at Chennai Port, privatization of coal terminal at Mormugao Port.
Shri Parida was also associated in the merger of cargo handling pool at Tuticorin with VO Chidambaranar Port and Chennai Dock Labour Board with Chennai Port. A graduate in commerce and law and associate member of Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India, Parida after assuming charge had discussions with all departments of the Port, port users and labour representatives and sought their cooperation.
