To promote Kabaddi in rural areas, NLCIL is organizing NLC India Invitation Cup -2018, a State Level Rural Kabaddi Tournament at Neyveli from 8th to 10th March 2018. Shri R,Vikraman,Director(HR) inaugurated the Tournament in the presence of Shri.N.Muthu Executive Director(HR) at a especially laid Mat court close to Neyveli Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli,on 08.03.2018. The Sports Development Centre of NLCIL organizing this Tournament under its Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme and Officials of Tamil Nadu Amateur Kabadi Asssociation (TNAKA) made all arrangerments for this meet
Shri R.Vikraman , in his inaugural adress said that, Kabaddi is one of the few sports that can be traced back to Indian mythology. Yet it still finds new followers in numerous nations across the world. Sports benefits the nation through community development, team building. He said , kabaddi players have more vital capacity due to the internal organ, i.e. respiration, is exercised along with external organs resulting in a sound mind in a strong body which is the ultimate aim of sports.
Shri N.Muthu ED/HR, Shri R .Mohan, CGM (Education, SDC & CSR) and Shri A.R Velavan, Vice President / TNAKA felicitated the Ocassion. Shri N.Shankar ,CGM/HR and Shri I.Nedumaran, DGM (Education) and Secretary, Neyveli Schools graced the occasion.
12 Rural teams from various Districts like,Tanjore vadaluru, Cuddalore,Neyveli, kallakurichi,Villupuram, Mayiladuthurai,Nagapatnam including a team consisting of Contract /INDCO serve workers from Neyveli is also competing in the tournament.
NLCIL providing all the participating team members (12+2 persons per team) with DA (@Rs.250/- per day) and TA and Free Accommodation.Qualified Officials from Tamilnadu Kabaddi Association will be officiating the tournament. The Matches will be played with Flood Light Facilities on a Mat Surface of National Standard.
