Unprecedented rains followed by landslides caused extensive damage to the men and material in the neighbouring state of Kerala in last week,the entire state coming to a grinding halt .NLC India Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking, being a socially responsible corporate body as first step of relief work through its subsisdary company Neyveli Thermal PowerProject (NTPL), Tuticorin has arranged various flood relief material consisting of Cloth & Bedsheets, Mats, Water Bottles, Food items, Pulses & SpicesToiletries, Mosquito Coils/replants, Match box, Candles in three phases to the Kerala on 17th ,18th & 19th August 2018, in coordination with the Tuticorin District Administration.
Also on 22.08.2018, NLCIL management has extended financial help by announcing an amount of morethan Rs. 5 Crore towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Though the magnitude of loss is large the management and employees of NLCIL have made their humble contribution which consists of more than 3 Crore being one day salary donated by the NLCIL employees and 2 crore from NLCIL management activities Fund towards Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund..
