NLC CMD appeals to parents to spend more time with children

Shri.S.K.Acharya, CMD NLC, in his chief Guest’s Address said this. The launching of various welfare schemes for the NLC School Children was held at the Learning and Development centre, Block-20, Neyveli-3, on 08/01/2016.

Shri.Acharya further added that the efforts taken by the teachers should not be forgotten as they only build a stronger society by imparting education and discipline to the children. He expressed his happiness about the progress in pass percentage as well as standard/quality of education.NLC_indianbureaucracy

Various welfare schemes like free uniforms to about 1900 school children who pursue 11th and 12th Standards in NLC schools, Identity cards to all the school children was formally inaugurated. The Tamil Nadu State Government is distributing free uniforms only up to 10th standard students. For the first time NLC is issuing free uniforms to Higher secondary students and planning to continue every year. The Expenditure would be given under CSR funds. Honouring of school toppers (girls) in 10th and 12th Standards with Rs.10000 cash awards (this year 15 children got it), best teachers ( 20 teachers for all schools in Neyveli )schools was also carried out. One new building at Mandarakuppam containing 8 class rooms at an estimated cost of Rs.75.00 Lakhs was formally opened on this occasion.

NLC is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee year during 2015-16. NLC proposes to celebrate this in a grand manner by organizing various events which include peripheral welfare schemes also. Much importance would be given to the education of the rural students. As the Cuddalore District is limping back to normalcy from the recent floods and that to start the new year and the Diamond jubilee year celebrations as well, today, launching of some of the welfare measures was being done as a matter of good beginning.

Functional Directors, Shri.Rakesh Kumar, Shri.Subir Das and Shri.V.Thangapandian, other senior officials, employees’ representatives, children, parents, teachers participated in the above function. Shri.S.Sridhar, General Manager/ Public Relations and Education welcomed the gathering and the vote of thanks was rendered by Shri. I. Nedumaran, Secretary Schools.
