Shri Nilabhra Sengupta IRSSE (1997) takes charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on deputation, marking yet another significant milestone in his illustrious career.
A distinguished alumnus of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Shri Sengupta completed his B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunications in 1996. He joined the prestigious Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers two years later, embarking on a remarkable journey of public service and technical excellence.
Before assuming his new role at BEL, Shri Sengupta served as Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer/Projects at Metro Railway, Kolkata, where his leadership and expertise were pivotal. He also held the additional charge of Director (Rolling Stock and Systems) in Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation. His notable tenure includes serving as ADRM Operations in Eastern Railway’s Howrah division and deputations to RITES and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation between 2014 and 2017.
With over 25 years of rich and diverse experience, Shri Sengupta has made significant contributions to various domains, including Signalling and Telecommunications, Train Operation Safety, Metro Technologies, Budget Management, Procurement, General Administration, Personnel Management, and IT.
His exceptional expertise and leadership skills promise to bring immense value to BEL as it continues to uphold its legacy of excellence in the defence sector.
