Smt Yogamaya Acharya, President, Neyveli Ladies Club bestowed Certificates and Stipends to Women, who underwent training under Tailoring & Spoken English in NLCI Limited on 26.03.2018. The function was held at Neyveli Ladies Club, Neyveli.
As part of women empowerment, Corporate Social Responsibility Division of NLCIL, imparted training to Women under “Praveen Sthri” Scheme. The women from surrounding villages including students of Neyveli Jawahar Science College gained the Self-employment Training and Skill Development Training. In the year 2017-18, 460 women were trained in various discipline like Tailoring, Beautician, Light Motor Vehicle driving, Modern Gem & Jewellery making and Spoken English Language. The total cost of the training amounted to Rs.30 Lakhs, was met out from CSR Fund.
The first batch with 80 beneficiaries (Tailoring-30; LMV Driving-50;) was received their Certificates and stipend on 16.03.2018 from Smt. Yogamaya Acharya. The second phase of Certificate distribution function was organized on yesterday (26.03.2018), wherein, she handed over Sewing Machines and Certificates to 30 women, who underwent tailoring training, at the function organized at Neyveli Ladies Club. Also as many as 75 women, who underwent spoken English training were awarded certificates and a learning kit contains, English Dictionary, Grammar Books, Study Materials etc. Instead of giving cash incentives, the company provided Sewing Machines and other instruments to be utilized for the profession, what they learnt.
Smt. Shanthi Vikraman, Patron, Neyveli Ladies Club, Senior Officials of NLCIL and Members of Neyveli Ladies Club participated in this function. Earlier Smt. Latha, Treasurer, Neyveli Ladies Club delivered Welcome address and Sri B. Balachandar, AEE/CSR of NLCIL proposed vote of thanks.
