National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) scheme

Under National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) scheme, so far, 12.26 lakh farmer-members have been brought under the ambit of dairy cooperative network. These farmer-members have availed the benefit of the scheme activities including training/orientation programs etc. The State wise details of farmers’ inducted/enrolled/added in the dairy cooperative network under NPDD scheme is at Annexure.

Supplementing the efforts of the State Government, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has been implementing following dairy development schemes, wherein provisions have been made for financial assistance to dairy cooperatives, milk producer companies etc, primarily for strengthening/creation of dairy infrastructure for quality milk procurement, its processing, marketing and working capital requirements:-

    1. National Programme for Dairy Development
    2. Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund
    3. Supporting Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organisations engaged in dairy activities

The above schemes benefit farmer-members, including financially weaker farmers in the dairy sector.
