Earlier in his career, he worked as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for External Affairs and also served as Under Secretary handling Pakistan-related matters in the Ministry of External Affairs. His overseas diplomatic assignments included postings in Senegal and France. While serving in Dakar, he also handled concurrent accreditation to several West African nations, reflecting the confidence reposed in his diplomatic capabilities at an early stage of his career.

Academically, Mr. Singh possesses a strong foundation in economics. He completed his B.A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi and pursued his Master’s degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics.
