Shri Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan IAS (UP 1995) presently posted as Commissioner,Vanijaya Kar, Lucknow has been transferred as Managing Director  of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(UPSRTC). Shri M K Narayan is a BTech and MTech in electrical engineering and had started his Indian Bureaucracy Career as Jt. Magistrate in 1997 and has worked as CDO, Collector and Vice Chairman,LDA.

The HO of UPSRTC is situated at Lucknow.For effective  functioning, the corporation has been divided into 20 regions of which 1 region operates urban & sub-urban services. Each region has a regional workshop where major repair and maintenance work as well as assembly reconditioning work is performed and each region has been further divided into depots. Total number of depots in the corporation is 108, including car-section. Each depot has a depot workshop attached to it to provide supportive maintenance facilities.  vehicles,two Central workshops have been established in Kanpur and Allen Forest.Eight tyre retreading plants are established at Agra, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Allahabad, Moradabad and Etawah . For repairs and maintenance of staff cars belonging to the State Government and the Corporation, a separate unit named Car Section is established in Lucknow.Training to drivers and technical staff is provided at a Training School established in Kanpur.
