Shri Mohanish Verma IRS (IT) presently posted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi has been promoted as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax , Government of India.
Shri Verma is a senior tax official with 32 years of varied experiences in Indian Direct Taxes with exposure to Transfer pricing, Trade issues, International financial Institutions and Government policies in different countries. With a background in Economics from India and higher education from USA & UK, he has a macro understanding of tax and economic issues as well as specialized knowledge to handle laws in a global environment with exposure to International Public Finance having argued tax cases in Tribunals for several years and has minute understanding about the intricacies of law. Shri Mohanish Verma has studied from Michigan State University on Public Administration and is an M.Phil in Economics from Dundee, UK. He has undergone training at IMF on Public Finance and several courses from Maxwell School, Syracuse, USA.
