The Government has received proposals under the component of AYUSH Services & AYUSH Educational Institutions of Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), whereinthere is provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospital and setting up of State Government AYUSH Colleges in the States where it is not available in Government sector.

        The Central Government has approved setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospital andAYUSH Colleges to the States/UTs under NAM. The funds sanctioned under NAM during 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 are Rs. 330.00  lakhs,  RS. 2014.565 lakhs and RS. 4753.65 lakhs respectively for setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in 15 states.

The National Policy on Indian Systems of Medicine & Homoeopathy – 2002, envisages to promote good health and expand the outreach of health care to the people, particularly those not provided health cover, through preventive, promotive, mitigating and curative intervention through AYUSH systems of medicine including Ayurveda. In this regard Government of India has approved and notified National AYUSH Mission (NAM) on 29.09.2014 which aims at access to AYUSH services; strengthening of AYUSH educational institutions, facilitate the enforcement of quality control of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani & Homoeopathy (ASU &H) drugs and sustainable availability of raw-materials for ASU & H drugs in the States/UTs during the 12th Plan. The funds allocated under NAM during 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 are Rs. 330.00  lakhs,  RS. 2014.565 lakhs and RS. 4753.65 lakhs respectively for setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals in different states/UTs.
