PIB News Update: According to the National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department:(Saturday05June2021, TimeofIssue:1630hoursIST; Basedon1430hoursISTObservations)

  • Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into more parts central Arabian Sea, entire coastal Karnataka, Goa, some parts of Maharashtra, most parts north Interior Karnataka, some parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, more parts of Tamil Nadu, more parts of central Bay of Bengal and some parts of northeast BayofBengaltodaythe 5th June 2021.
  • The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through lat. 17.0°N/ Long. 60°E, lat. 17.5°N/ Long. 70°E, Harnai, Solapur, Raichur, Kurnool, Tirupati, Cuddalore, lat.11.5°N/Long.81.5°E,13°N/85°E, 16°N/89°Eand20°N/93°E.
  • Southwest monsoon is very likely to advance further into more central Arabian Sea, some more part of Maharashtra, remaining parts of Karnataka, more parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, more parts of central and northeast Bay of Bengal, some parts of northeast BayofBengal and northeast India during next 24 ­hours.
  • The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Punjab & adjoining Haryana at 3.1 km above mean sea level with the trough aloft with its axis at 5.8km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 72°E to the north of Lat.26°N persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining northwest Rajasthan extending up to 2.1 km above mean seal level persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral Arabian Sea off Karnataka­Goa coasts extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level persists.
  • The trough from the above cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral ArabianSea to south Tamil nadu across Karnataka extending upto 0.9 km above mean sealevel persists.
  • The off­shore trough at mean sea level from south Maharashtra coast to south Kerala coast persists.
  • The cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka & adjoining Comorin area between 3.1km &4.5km above mean sealevel persists.
