Indian Bureaucracy News, New Delhi, September 01, 2025| The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has invited nominations for the post of Community Policing Adviser (P-4) in the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS). The assignment will be for a period of 12 months, extendable as per UN requirements. Last date of submission is 25 September 2025.
As per the circular, nominations are open to serving police officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with at least seven years of progressive service, including direct involvement in community policing initiatives. Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
The Ministry has requested states, Union Territories, and central organisations to forward nominations of eligible and willing officers through proper channel by 25 September 2025, along with vigilance and cadre clearances. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
The vacancy notification highlights the UN’s emphasis on police reform, institutional development, human rights compliance, and gender-sensitive policing. Member States are strongly encouraged to nominate qualified women police officers for the position.
