Prior to this assignment, he served with distinction as Labour Commissioner, Haryana, Secretary, Labour Department, and Secretary, Home Department, Haryana — roles that highlight his administrative versatility and consistent record of performance across critical governance sectors.
An alumnus of Rajasthan University, Jaipur, Shri Sharma holds a B.A. (Honours) and M.A. in Political Science, both with First Division. His academic grounding in governance and political systems has been reflected throughout his administrative journey, where he has combined analytical thinking with people-centric execution.
During his tenure as Labour Commissioner, he played a vital role in strengthening industrial relations, promoting worker welfare, and ensuring compliance with labour regulations. His initiatives focused on streamlining dispute resolution mechanisms and fostering a balanced approach to labour–industry dynamics. As Special Secretary in the Finance Department, he contributed to fiscal management and administrative reforms aimed at efficiency and accountability within the financial ecosystem of the state government.
Earlier in his career, Shri Sharma gained extensive grassroots experience as Deputy Commissioner, Palwal, and Chief Executive Officer, Mewat Development Agency, where he successfully implemented developmental programmes focused on education, infrastructure, and livelihood improvement in one of Haryana’s most socio-economically diverse regions. His administrative leadership as Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-CEO, DRDA Mewat, was marked by innovation in rural development and community participation models.
Before his Haryana cadre tenure, Shri Sharma served in Manipur as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO/SDM) and Assistant Commissioner in districts like Churachandpur and Tamenglong, gaining valuable experience in governance under challenging terrains and multicultural contexts.
