Major IPS Reshuffle in Punjab: 6 DIGs Among 8 Officers Transferred

Indian Bureaucracy, Chandigarh, July 12, 2025| In a significant bureaucratic move the Punjab state government, transferred eight IPS officers, including six DIG rank and two Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) rank officers who have recently returned from central government postings. The reshuffle saw new Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) appointed to the Patiala Range, Ludhiana, and Border Range Amritsar, alongside critical roles within the security apparatus of counter-intelligence, crime, internal security, and the Anti-Gangster Task Force—key units in Punjab’s ongoing battle against the drug trade and organized crime, amid its troubled history of terrorism along the sensitive border. Details of the officers and their new assignments are listed below.

Smt Nilambari Vijay Jagadale IPS (Punjab 2005), presently DIG Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Counter Intelligence, Punjab, SAS Nagar.

Shri Kuldeep Singh Chahal IPS (Punjab 2009), presently DIG, Technical Services, Punjab, Chandigarh, is given additional charge of DIG – Patiala Range, Patiala, relieving Shri Nanak Singh IPS.

Shri Satinder Singh IPS (Punjab 2010), presently DIG, Border Range, Amritsar, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana, relieving Smt Jagadale Nilambari Vijay IPS.

Dr Nanak Singh IPS (Punjab 2011), recently promoted and presently awaiting posting, is appointed as DIG – Border Range, Amritsar, vice Shri Satinder Singh IPS.

Shri Gurmit Singh Chauhan IPS (Punjab 2011), recently promoted and presently awaiting posting, is appointed as DIG – Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, SAS Nagar.

Shri Naveen Saini IPS (Punjab 2011), recently promoted and presently awaiting posting, is appointed as DIG – Crime, Punjab, Chandigarh.

Shri Dhruv Dahiya IPS (Punjab 2012), upon return from central deputation where he was posted as Joint Deputy Director, Intelligence Bureau, MHA, is appointed as AIG – Counter Intelligence, Punjab, Chandigarh.

Smt D Sudarvizhi IPS (Punjab 2012), upon return from Central Deputation where she was posted with National Investigation Agency (NIA), MHA, is appointed as AIG – Internal Security, Punjab, SAS Nagar.
