Madhu Sudan Nath IAS appointed to Junior Administrative Grade of IAS
Shri Madhu Sudan Nath IAS (Assam Meghalaya 2014) presently Secretary – Women & Child Development Department, Assam has been appointed to the Junior Administrative Grade of IAS (Level 12 of Pay Matrix) .
The Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, Government of Assam, is a senior administrative officer responsible for overseeing policies and programs aimed at the welfare, protection, and empowerment of women and children in the state. The department plays a crucial role in implementing major social welfare initiatives related to child protection, nutrition, early childhood care, and women’s empowerment. The Secretary supervises the implementation of flagship schemes such as the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), child protection programs, and various initiatives supporting women’s safety, health, and livelihood opportunities. The role also involves coordinating with district administrations, allied departments, and partner organizations to ensure effective delivery of services through Anganwadi centres and other welfare institutions. Through policy direction, monitoring, and administrative leadership, the Secretary works to strengthen institutional mechanisms for child development and gender welfare, thereby contributing to inclusive social development in the state, developments often reflected in Indian Bureaucracy updates.
