Smt Kritika Jyotsna IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2014), presently Special Secretary, State Tax Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as District Magistrate and Collector, Basti, Uttar Pradesh.
Smt. Kritika Jyotsna was previously serving as Special Secretary, State Tax Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. An alumna of Miranda House, Delhi University, Smt. Jyotsna holds a B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics, securing top grades during her academic tenure. Her analytical and data-driven approach, developed through her academic background, has greatly influenced her administrative style and policy decision-making.
Since joining the Indian Administrative Service, Smt. Kritika Jyotsna has served in a variety of important assignments across Uttar Pradesh and on inter-cadre deputation in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. She has held several key roles such as Chief Development Officer, Balrampur, Chief Executive Officer, Industries Department, Bhadohi, and Special Secretary, Industries Department, Lucknow. Her work in these departments highlighted her ability to balance economic priorities with social equity, promoting local development initiatives and efficient service delivery.
During her deputation in Jammu & Kashmir, Smt. Jyotsna served as Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur and Ganderbal, where she was responsible for district administration, revenue management, and public welfare initiatives. Her leadership during this period reflected a strong commitment to participatory governance, public grievance redressal, and inter-departmental coordination.
