Shri Loknath Behera, State Police Chief has stated that the State Police is considering to use ‘Block Chain’ technology for investigation and intelligence purposes. The technology will also be used for passport verification. Delay in issuing passport could be reduced by this way. Latest technology will also be used in policing in the state. He was inaugurating the Regional Cyber Security Conference for the police officers from Southern States at Thiruvananthapuram today.

There are a lot of officials in Kerala Police in various ranks having technical qualification. Action has been initiated to use their experience in relevant fields. Top priority has been given in various fields in Kerala Police to use latest technologies. He also pointed out that the Cyber Security Conference titled ‘COCOON’ being hosted by the Kerala Police every year has drawn attention from cyber experts from different countries in the last 12 years.

The regional level cyber security conference has been conducted based on the recommendations emerged in the DGP/IGP conference held in New Delhi last year. Sessions by experts in the field of block chain, social media, online bank fraud, forensic digital evidence etc have been included in the two day session. A technology exhibition is also being arranged in this connection.

Senior Police Officers from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puduchery and Andaman & Nicobar have been attending the conference which is scheduled to conclude tomorrow. Police officials from various cyber units in Kerala are also attending the programme.

ADGPs Tomin.J.Thachankary, Sudesh Kumar, Dr.B.Sandhya, Manoj Abraham, IG M.R. Ajith Kumar, DIGs Nagaraju Chakilam and Kori Sanjaykumar Gurudin have also attended the conference.
