The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sh. Siddaramaiah inaugurated the commencement of works for the 370 MW Yelahanka Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP), to be executed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), in the presence of the Hon’ble Minister of Energy, Govt. of Karnataka, Sh. D. K. Shiva Kumar. Sh. Atul Sobti, Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL, and other dignitaries, including officials from Govt. of Karnataka, KPCL and BHEL, were present on the occasion. Notably, this prestigious project is being set up by BHEL on EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) basis, involving supply and commissioning of a fuel-efficient state-of-the-art Advanced-class Gas Turbine. Significantly, this will be the first gas-based Utility Power Project of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL).
