Shri K Sanjay Murthy IAS (Himachal Pradesh 1989) presently Secretary, Department of Higher Education, has been given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy from 09.02.2022 to 13.02.2022 during the period of absence on leave of Ms. Anita Karwal IAS (Gujarat1988).
Shri Murthy graduated in Bachelor of Engineering and belongs to the Indian Administration Service borne on Himachal Pradesh Cadre and joined the service in 1989. He has a vast and varied experience of more than 30 years in Power, Urban Development, Information Broadcasting, Information Technology and Education Sector in both the Government of India and in the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh in various capacities.
Before joining NICDC, he worked as Additional Secretary in the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, responsible for Urban Transport, Delhi Development Authority & NBCC. Shri Murthy has served in various field assignments including as Deputy Commissioner of 3 Districts in Himachal Pradesh handling Development, Revenue Administration and other regulatory functions.
