Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar presently Judge- Telangana High Court has been transferred as Judge of Madras High Court.
Justice Tadakamalla Vinod Kumar, a respected figure in the Indian judiciary, was born on 17th November 1964 to late Sri T. Laxmi Narasimha Rao and Smt. T. Shakuntala. His early life was rooted in the town of Suryapet in Nalgonda District, where he received his foundational education. He later moved to Hyderabad to continue his academic pursuits, earning both his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degrees from the prestigious Osmania University — an institution renowned for nurturing legal minds.
Justice Vinod Kumar enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in 1988 and began his legal journey in the chambers of the eminent Senior Advocate, Sri Ravi S. From the outset of his career, he exhibited a sharp legal acumen, choosing to specialize in Tax and Corporate Litigation — fields that demand precision, deep legal knowledge, and analytical skill. His expertise and dedication quickly earned him recognition in legal circles.
In 2015, he was appointed as the Senior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department, a role that positioned him at the forefront of financial jurisprudence in the state. His appointment as Special Standing Counsel for Commercial Tax in 2016 further underlined his capabilities in handling complex revenue and commercial litigation matters. He served diligently in these roles until his elevation to the bench.
Justice T. Vinod Kumar was appointed as a Judge of the High Court for the State of Telangana, Hyderabad, and took oath on 26th August 2019. Since his elevation, he has brought to the bench not only decades of practical legal experience but also a reputation for integrity, clarity in judgment, and commitment to justice.
