Justice Sugato Majumdar presently Additional Judge has been appointed as Judge of Calcutta High Court.
Born on 25th December, 1967, Shri Sugato Majumdar graduated with Honours from the University of Calcutta. Passed LL.B. examinations in the year 1994 from Hooghly Mohsin College; Enrolled in the Bar Council of West Bengal on 29th June, 1995; Practiced for fourteen years on civil and labour matters in Calcutta High Court and in different courts of West Bengal; Stood first in the Direct Recruitment Examination to the Cadre of District Judge (Entry Level) from the Members of the Bar 2009;
Worked in various capacities like Registrar General of the Calcutta High Court; Secretary, Law, Govt. of West Bengal; District & Sessions Judge of A&N Islands, Howrah and Jalpaiguri and others and elevated to Bench, as an Additional Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on August 27, 2021.
