Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, who is presently serving as a Judge of the Gauhati High Court, has been appointed as a Judge of the Calcutta High Court. The appointment has been made by the President of India in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 222(1) of the Constitution, following consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
