Shri Justice Goutam Bhaduri presently the senior- most puisne Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh appointed to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh wef  from 11.03.2023.

Born on 10th November, 1962 in the family of prominent lawyers S.K. Bhaduri (father) and P. Bhaduri (grand father). Did primary and middle schooling in Bengali Kalibadi School, Raipur and thereafter completed secondary education from St. Paul Higher Secondary, School, Raipur. Took B.Com., and LL.B degrees from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur. Recipient of gold medal in L.LB.

Was associated with the Society which runs 3 colleges at Raipur namely Durga College, Vivekanand College and Law College founded by his grand father. Was also member of the Educational Society and also Regional Societies.

Joined the law practice in the year 1985. Practiced law in various subordinate courts within the jurisdiction of Chhattisgarh and the erstwhile State of Madhya Pradesh as also High Court.

Shifted to Bilaspur in the year 2000. Worked as Government Advocate and thereafter promoted as Deputy Advocate General in the office of Advocate General, Bilaspur and continued uptill 2003. Subsequently practiced on private side.

Dealt with the matters of Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company, Labour. Was standing counsel for C.B.I. Was also standing counsel for the Public Sector Undertakings – SAIL, NTPC, Banks and also several Private Corporate Bodies.

Elevated as Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 16th September, 2013. He assumed the charge of office of the Chief Justice (Acting) of the High Court of Chhattisgarh from 11th March 2023.
