Shri J S Deepak, IAS (UP 1982) presently Secretary, Department of Electronics and information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology vice Shri Rakesh Garg, IAS (UP 1980) on his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.
Shri J S Deepak is a Masters in Physics and PG in Business Administration from IIMA.
He started his Indian bureaucracy career in 1984 as the Executive Magistrate of Ballia. In his vast service of varied experience he has served as S D M of Saharanpur (1985-86), Commissioner of Faizabad, Secretary, Small Scale Industries Corporation(2002-03), Secretary Personnel Department of Uttar Pradesh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry ,Department of Commerce.
He has served in Central Cadre as Secretary, Communications & Information Technology and Department of Electronics & Information Technology.
