India, France agree to deepen security co-operation- indian Bureaucracy

India and France have agreed to deepen security co-operation, bilaterally and in the multilateral fora, and strengthen strong commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Talking to reporters in New Delhi after holding delegation-level talks with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean Yves-Le Drain, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, both countries have vowed to get rid of the menace of terrorism.

Mrs Swaraj also said, both countries have decided to further improve the defence and economic co-operation. She said, civil nuclear co-operation is an important pillar of the bilateral engagement.

In his press statement, the French Foreign Affairs Minister said, both countries are committed to save the earth through the Paris climate change agreement.

He said, France will continue its partnership with India in areas such as smart cities and renewable energy adding that French President Emmanuel Macron to visit India early next year.
