India’s strategy to achieve inclusive growth by linking employment to universal social protection- says Minister Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of Labour and Employment has said that while generation of productive and gainful employment with decent working conditions is the strategy for “inclusive growth”, the ultimate goal of inclusive and equitable growth can be achieved only by linking employment to universal social protection. He was speaking at the Meeting of the Labour Ministers of the Asia and Pacific Region at 104th Session of International Labour Conference at ILO, Geneva yesterday. He talked at length about India’s novel initiatives in the area of employment generation and social protection. He congratulated DG, ILO for a focused vision and for adopting a long term approach for future of Work. He said that India will be happy to cooperate, collaborate and assume leadership role to initiate a coordinated effort for a strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth for the Global economy.
