Hindi Fortnight Celebrated at NALCO

With a view to promoting use of Hindi as official language, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has celebrated Hindi fortnight at its Corporate Office and sites from 1 st to 14 th September 2016.To mark the occasion, various competitions in Hindi including essay, debate, noting, quiz, poster competition etc were organised among its employees. At the concluding day function held today at corporate office, Dr Tapan Kumar Chand,Chairman-cum- Managing Director, NALCO as the chief guest, handed over the prizes to the winners in the various competitions.

“Hindi language has played a vital role not only during the freedom struggle but also helped in bringing together the people from different regions for the development of modern India” said Dr Chand, while addressing the gathering. The Hindi Day Message of Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, Govt. of India was also read out on the occasion.

Shri Sachidananda Padhy, Manager (Electrical), Captive Power Plant of NALCO was also awarded with a cash prize of Rs.5000/- for promoting the use of Hindi language. Among others, Shri B.K. Thakur, Director(HR) and Shri S.K. Mishra, GM(H&A) were notably present on the occasion and stressed on the implementation of Hindi Language in official works. Shri Hariram Pansari, Manager (Rajbhasa), coordinated the programme.
