Joint Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministries of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation will meet in Guwahati, Assam tomorrow i.e April 18, 2017 to review use of Hindi language in official work in both the Ministries and their attached and sub-ordinate offices.
Ministry of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri M Venkaiah Naidu will chair the meeting which is being held in North-East for the first time.
About ten Members of Parliament and all the official Members of the Committee including Secretaries and senior officers of both the Ministries and attached and sub-ordinate offices will attend the meeting.
The Committee will undertake a thorough review of use of Hindi as per the provisions of the Official Language Policy of 1963.
Minister of UD and HUPA Shri M Venkaiah Naidu will release a Compendium of 2,500 words frequently used in both the Ministries translated from English to Hindi to promote use of Hindi in official work.
