The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar  has informed that The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) proposes to organize ‘Block-Level Health Melas’ between 18th and 22nd April 2022 as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Block Level Health Mela is proposed to be organized in all the blocks of every district across the country and it will be held for one day. Essential drugs and diagnostic services shall be provided free of cost at the health Mela and support of Rs One Lakh will be provided for each mela and funds for Health Melas are provisioned in the NHM after seeking proposal from the States/UTs in their PIPs/SPIPs as per NHM norms.

 

These block-level Health Melas are to be organized as a concerted action of various departments like State Health Authority, Department of Food, Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Department of AYUSH, Department of School Education, Department of Women and Child Development, Department of Culture, Department of Information and Broadcasting, Department of Panchayati Raj Institution & Urban Development, any other Departments as per context and local need.

 

During F.Y. 2018-19, funds were released to States/UTs including state of Rajasthan for organizing Health Melas based on their proposals received & are given at Annexure I. Further, details of funds utilized during the last three years as reported by the States/UTs is at Annexure- II.
