Indian Bureaucracy News | The two-day ‘3rd Young Superintendents of Police Conference’ and Police Expo-2020, organised by FICCI in partnership with Haryana Police and BPR&D, concluded on Friday at Apparel House, Gurugram. The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, as he was invited as the chief guest of Plenary session of the mega expo. CM Khattar talked extensively about the role of technology in the field of policing and enforcing law and administration. Pitching for the SMART policing, he quoted the prophetic words of honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as he explained the aspect of sensitivity, alertness, responsibility, trend, transparency in the police system to ensure effective policing to the people.

“Technology in policing can be more apparent and transparent than human interface. We are in the age of Artificial Intelligence where challenges related to cyber crimes are increasing manifold that needs to be addressed and countered. In this direction we have established two cyber police stations at Gurugram and Panchkula. We want police to be friendly with the public because we believe that the first apparent face of the government is police.”

At this Police-Expo, more than 100 stalls related to technological background exhibited  products, services and solutions with demonstration. More than 150 SP rank officers also participated in the event. CM Khattar elevating the concern of safety and security pitched for peaceful atmosphere for better economic growth and overall development. He said, “Business environment is needed for the investors coming to India from any part of the world. For ease of doing business, law and order is a prerequisite that helps any industry to prosper. It also encourages the nation to achieving the goal of 5 trillion economy.”

Shri Manoj Yadava, DGP, Haryana, in his welcome speech thanked CM Manohar Lal for his presence. Quoting certain achievements of the Haryana Police, he said, “Crime against women has gone down in Haryana. We also have saved many lives as well as the human capital of the state by preventing many road related accidents and casualties.”

Shri Rahul Chaudhry, Chair, FICCI Homeland Security Committee highlighted the role played by FICCI in terms of bridging the gap between technology and Policing. He also mentioned about that the FICCI SMART Policing Awards, which recognised the best practices in SMART Policing.  He said “Security integration with national development is the most important dimensions. If a nation doesn’t provide security to the business, economic development is hampered. AI and Internet of Things (IOT) are most crucial things for security purposes. In the past we have organized workshops on cyber security, drones,  and other related subjects concerning the national security.”

Shri Karuna Sagar, IPS, Director (Modernization), BPR&D highlighted the inaugural events on day one of the police expo and the motivating speech by the National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval. The survivor of German Bakery Blast, Mrs. Amprapali Chavan also shared the dais in a morning session and shared her ordeal about the challenges she faced and came out as a warrior after losing her leg. DG of Haryana Police, Manoj Yadava and VSK Kaumudi, DG (BPR&D) presented mementos to the CM of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar while Mohammad Akil, Police Commissioner (Gurugram) proposed vote of thanks and thanked BPR&D, DGP Haryana and FICCI for its valuable support and guidance in making this Police Expo-2020 such a grand success.”
