IndianBureaucracy, Health News Desk – Union Ayush Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the Permanent Campus of the Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy and Integrated Ayush Wellness Centre at Azara, Guwahati. The project has been sanctioned with an amount of Rs 53.89 crore.
Founded in 1984 as a Homeopathy Research Unit in Odalbakra, Guwahati, the institute, initially in a rented space, operated out of the former Central Ayurveda Research Institute building. The Institute, which met the healthcare needs of the local population, experienced an increasing annual footfall in its OPD. Specialized OPDs, including Mother & Child OPD and LSD clinic, catered to specific healthcare requirements. Periodic peripheral OPDs and awareness camps were also organized. Providing laboratory services at nominal rates, the institute successfully conducted clinical trials on various health conditions. These trials encompassed skin disorders, cholera/gastroenteritis, chronic sinusitis & bronchitis, influenza-like illness, uterine fibroid, otitis media, hypertension, vitiligo, psoriasis, and migraine. Moreover, active engagement in public health projects like the Swasthya Rakshan program and collaborations with organizations like NIPER, Guwahati, and All India Institute for Ayurveda for Pharmacovigilance of ASU & H drugs enhanced the institute’s research initiatives.
On January 8-9, Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Union Minister of State for Ayush and Women and Child Development, inaugurated the new building of the Regional Research Institute of Homeopathy in Siliguri. The institute, established in 1984, actively contributes to clinical and public health research projects, with a notable focus on the Integrated NPCDCS-Ayush program. The recent achievement of NABH Ayush Entry Level certification marks a significant milestone for the institute.
Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai also inaugurated the new building of the Central Research Institute (Homeopathy) in Lucknow. According to Dr Subhash Kaushik, Director-General, Central Research Council of Homeopathy, the Lucknow institute is now compliant with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDHM). The implementation of Ayush Hospital Management Information System (A-HMIS) at the Lucknow institute aims to enhance patient registration and consultation processes in the OPD.
