Shri Emadi Sankara Rao presently Director & CEO, IAMCL (MF) and CGM, IIFCL has been appointed as MD and CEO IFCI Ltd for a period of five years.
He has more than 25 years of experience with leading institutions in infrastructure industry and banking & finance sectors. He is an alumnus of IIT Bombay (PhD) and IIT Kharagpur (M. Tech) and has also done PGDBA from Pondicherry Central University.
Previously, he has served IDFC Group as Director & Business Head and in IDBI as DGM and has extensive experience in Project & Corporate Finance, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Infrastructure Development etc. in sectors such as Power, Telecom, Gas pipelines, SEZ’s, Ports, Airports, Urban Infrastructure. He has also been instrumental in raising funds for IIFCL from both domestic and foreign sources and developing financial products like Credit Enhancement-cum-Takeout and Acquisition Finance. He has handled various projects costs ranging from Rs. 100 Cr to Rs. 7000 Cr.
He was also a member in the Sub-Group on Infrastructure (under Working Group on Savings Formulation) of the 12th Five Year Plan, member of Sub-Group on Financing Urban Infrastructure in the 12th Five Year Plan, and a member in the Ministry of Finance – DFS Committee on Debt Market Development. Trained in infrastructure financing by World Bank and Euromoney and contributed papers in various National and International Conferences & Workshops.
